EComposer Templates are fully designed page structures that provide a complete starting point. They are intended for users who want to launch pages quickly with minimal customization.

Instead of building a layout block-by-block from scratch, you can instantly import a template and easily modify its content, images, colors, and branding to match your store identity.

To help you seamlessly navigate our massive design library, EComposer features an intelligent filtering system, personalized asset management, and a comprehensive template preview dashboard.

1. Template Filtering

When you first open the Template Library, you are greeted with an intuitive dashboard designed to narrow down hundreds of choices into the exact design you need within seconds. Filter them will help you choose your desired layout faster.

1.1 Search

The Search Bar allows you to bypass categories and look for specific design elements or seasonal events. Typing keywords like “Black Friday”, “Fashion”, or “Countdown” will instantly surface relevant templates containing those specific keywords or design themes.

1.2. Smart Filter Criteria

Narrow down your choices based on your business objectives, layout needs, or pricing plan.

  • Page Type: Categorizes templates by their explicit business function (e.g., Homepage, Product Page, About Us, Coming Soon). This ensures your page layout aligns with the customer’s shopping journey. This option is available under the Pages tab only.
  • Industry: (Available under the Pages tab only) Filters templates by business niches (e.g., Fashion, Beauty, Electronics, Food & Drink). Each industry features pre-optimized visual structures tailored to that specific audience’s buying behavior.
  • Section Categories: Filter by specific element like Collection Banner, Cart Items, Contact Form, etc. This option is available under the Section tab only.
  • VIP Templates: Filters premium, high-converting layouts reserved exclusively for users on Paid Plans.
  • Free Templates: Displays completely free layouts available to everyone (including Free Plan users) with zero added costs.

1.3 Structural Classification

Pages (Full Layouts): Provides the complete structure of an entire webpage (e.g., Homepage, Landing Page, Product Page). Selecting this tab unlocks deeper, page-specific filters like Page Type and Industry.

Sections (Design Blocks): Provides isolated layout segments (e.g., Hero Banners, Testimonials, FAQ accordions, Team grids).

Note: When switching to the Sections tab, the Industry filter automatically disappears. This is intentional, as section blocks are highly versatile and designed to be mix-and-matched across any business niche without industry restrictions. The Section Category will be shown instead.

Themes: Show the Top-rated Shopify themes fully compatible with EComposer in style, layout.

Note: These themes work separately with EComposer. You can’t edit the theme page by using EComposer’s editor

My Templates: Show the template that is built by you via EComposer’s editor and has been saved to library before

My Favorites: Show all the template that has been added to the favorite by you to view later.

1.4. Sort by

The Sort by dropdown is a powerful tool to discover market trends and fresh designs. You can sort the library by:

  • Newest: Displays the latest cutting-edge designs freshly added by our design team.
  • Most Downloaded: The most popular and frequently installed templates in EComposer all the time.
  • Trending: Showcases the most frequently installed and highly rated templates by the EComposer community over a short period.

2. In-Depth Template View

Hovering over or clicking a specific template card opens a dedicated detail panel. Before committing to an installation, you can inspect the template using these functions:

  • Live Preview: Launches an interactive, responsive preview. You can toggle between Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile viewports to test layouts, animations, and text readability before importing.
  • Install Count: Displays a live counter of how many times the template has been used. A high install count serves as social proof, indicating a highly trusted, popular, and optimized layout.
  • Add to my favorites: An action to add your desired template to favorites, you can view and use it whenever you want without finding it again.
  • Insert: A single-click button that fetches the template data and injects the complete layout structure directly into your active EComposer Editor session.

There’re 2 options to choose how you want to insert the template:
+ Insert the template under current layout in the editor. If this option is untick, the template will be overwritten the current layout.
+ Keep the default templates’s typography. If not, the site style setting from EComposer or Theme setting will be used instead.

Note: Images in the template are for preview only, please replace to your images.

3. Pro-Tips & Best Practices (Value-Add for Customers)

To maximize the potential of EComposer’s template ecosystem and accelerate your development workflow, keep these expert strategies in mind:

  • The Hybrid Design Strategy: Combining Pages and Sections Don’t limit yourself to using just one template. Expert SaaS store builders often import a Page Template to establish the core layout of their homepage, then jump into the Sections tab to pull in a specialized “Limited-Time Flash Sale” banner or an “Interactive Comparison Table” from an entirely different set. Mixing and matching makes your store unique and highly functional.
  • Adopt a Mobile-First Mindset: Over 70% of e-commerce traffic originates from smartphones. When previewing a template, always spend a few moments auditing its Mobile View. Ensure your text isn’t overwhelming, images aren’t awkwardly cropped, and your “Add to Cart” buttons remain easily tappable on smaller screens.
  • Choose Curation Over Color: Don’t discard a template just because you don’t like its colors or fonts. Colors, typography, and imagery can be universally altered in one click via EComposer’s Global Settings. Instead, choose a template based on its structural blueprint, focus on whether the placement of banners, value propositions, and Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons matches your conversion goals.
